The Role
We’re looking for a Social and Community Marketing Specialist who understands that the best brand content doesn’t feel like content at all – it feels like a conversation, a moment, something worth stopping your scroll for. You’ll be the creative force behind how FISHBOWL sounds, looks, and connects with people online and IRL
This is primarily a social role, but it stretches further than that. You’ll collaborate with the rest of the Marketing and Creative team on campaigns, new restaurant openings, events, and activations. Most importantly, you’ll be an integral part of how the brand grows. If you’re someone who thrives in the space between big creative ideas and getting $#!& done, this one is for you 🙂
You’ll have:
- 2–4 years in social media, content creation, or a marketing role where social was at the centre; We’re open to industry, but food/retail is a huge plus
- A natural creative with the follow-through to match – you have ideas and you make them happen. You’re as comfortable shooting / editing, as you are working with other freelance creatives
- Confident across multiple platforms with a genuine feel for what makes each one tick
- A content creator in your own right – comfortable behind (and occasionally in front of) a camera, with a good eye and solid editing skills
- A writer who sounds like a human – warm, witty, on-brand, not corporate cringe
- Someone who’s energised by events, activations, and the occasional adventure – flexibility to adapt to evolving schedules and travel
- Genuinely passionate about food, culture, and the kind of community FISHBOWL is building
- Characteristics reflective of FISHBOWL’s ethos: self-motivated, positivity, service-oriented, flexible, and ethical with a high degree of integrity.
Bonus points:
- Experience working with creators or influencer partnerships
- An eye for design (Canva, Adobe, Figma — whatever gets the job done)
- A track record working on live events or brand activations
- Familiarity with social scheduling and analytics tools.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be expected to:
- Shape and own FISHBOWL’s voice and presence across all platforms – Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and wherever our community lives next
- Build content that people actually want to engage with – storytelling, humour, behind-the-scenes, product love, cultural moments – you know the mix
- Pick up a camera (or a phone) and make things – short-form video, Reels, Stories, the kind of content that feels native to the platform and true to the brand
- Read the room on each platform and adapt accordingly – what lands on TikTok has a different energy to what resonates on Instagram, and you instinctively know the difference
- Stay close to culture (e.g. trends, sounds, conversations) and know when FISHBOWL should be part of them and when to sit one out
- Be the human behind the handle – nurturing our community through genuine, thoughtful engagement. The DMs energise you.
- Use data to stay honest – tracking what’s resonating and feeding those insights back into the creative process
- Collaborate with the broader team on campaigns, bringing a social-first lens to everything we do
- Get involved in brand activations, new restaurant openings, and events – including travel and on-the-ground work when needed. This is the part of the job that takes you off the laptop and into the world, and it’s one of the best bits
- Build and nurture relationships with creators, collaborators, and partners who feel genuinely aligned with the FISHBOWL world
- Help keep the brand consistent and considered across every touchpoint it shows up in.

The Interview Process
Here’s what you can expect during our recruitment process:
- Initial pre-screen call with our Recruitment team (20 min)
- 2nd round interview with the hiring manager – diving deeper into your experience and the scope of the role (online, 25 min)
- Case study panel with the hiring manager and/or Head Office senior leaders – present a case study, which will be provided to you in advance. This exercise is designed to test your thinking so we can understand your approaches to structuring work; it’s not designed to be an exhaustive piece of work (in-person, 1 hour)
- Reference checks and move to offer.
