The Role
We’re looking for a motivated Kitchen Manager to manage our central kitchen (which produces ingredients for our restaurants) and to lead our kitchen teams.
Skills and experience
You’ll have:
- Experience working in industrial and/or restaurant kitchens
- A passion for food and kitchen operations
- Ability to lead, motivate, and build an efficient team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership ability, approachability, and a reputation as a role model
- Characteristics reflective of FISHBOWL’s ethos: self-motivated, positivity, service-oriented, flexible, and ethical with a high degree of integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head Chef, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of our Central Kitchen, working with Kitchen Assistants, Kitchen Supervisors, and other Kitchen Managers to coordinate kitchen operations to deliver an exceptional product while maintaining critical food safety standards. You’ll be expected to:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of a central kitchen
- Supervise ingredient preparation in the kitchen
- Maintain adequate inventory levels and conduct regular inventory counts
- Model and ensure critical standards of product quality, daily food safety, and sanitation
- Oversee the training of employees to ensure the highest quality standards, safe operation of kitchen equipment, and the proper handling of heavy items and hazardous materials
- Manage rosters, supervise the team, and coach kitchen staff to grow with us
- Role model and reinforce FISHBOWL’s people and culture standards
- Coordinate daily logistics to restaurant locations.

The Interview Process
Here’s what you can expect during our recruitment process:
- Initial pre-screen call with our Recruitment team (20 min)
- 2nd round interview – diving deeper into your experience and the scope of the role (45 min)
- In-store paid trial with one of our Kitchen leaders – getting ‘on the mix’ in our central kitchen (4-8 hours)
- Reference checks and move to offer.
