Head of People Experience

The Role
As the Head of People Experience, you will play a senior leadership role in shaping how candidates and employees experience FISHBOWL across the employee lifecycle. As a scaling business with global reach, our success depends on attracting, engaging, and retaining great people, and this role focuses on designing the moments that matter most.
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will translate our people and culture strategy into practical, human-centred experiences across recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, performance, development, wellbeing, compliance, organisation design, and succession planning.
Based at our Head Office in Sydney, you will partner with leaders across the business to ensure the employee experience is cohesive, values-led, and aligned to our employer brand. You will lead people-focused initiatives, reviews, and transformations end-to-end, using data and insight to inform decision-making at all levels including at the Board-level.
Skills and experience
You’ll have:
- Significant experience leading projects and teams across people experience, human resources, organisational development, or transformation activities
- Demonstrated capability designing and delivering employee experience or engagement initiatives in a scaling, multi-site, or operationally complex organisations
- Exceptional communicator with the ability to influence and coach people at all levels of the business
- Experience in consulting, advisory, or project-based environments (valued but not essential).
Key Responsibilities
You’ll lead the delivery of how our people and culture strategy is experienced day-to-day. Working closely with the Chief People Officer, P&C team, and leaders across the business, you will:
- Design and deliver a cohesive employee experience strategy aligned to FISHBOWL’s values, culture, and business objectives
- Lead employee experience initiatives across the full lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance, development, wellbeing, and offboarding
- Oversee employee engagement measurement and people insights, providing recommendations to leaders across the business
- Continuously improve onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure employees join and leave as brand ambassadors
- Partner with leaders to embed effective performance management and development practices
- Design and evolve wellbeing, engagement, and inclusion initiatives
- Lead people-focused reviews, transformations, and cross-functional initiatives end-to-end
- Stay across emerging people experience trends and apply best practice to evolve people processes and systems
- Lead, coach, and develop team members within the P&C function
- Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on people experience, engagement, and performance matters.

The Interview Process
Here’s what you can expect during our recruitment process:
- Introductory call with our Chief People Officer (30 min)
- Case study with executive/s – present a case study, which will be provided to you in advance, to some of our executive team. This exercise is designed to test your thinking so we can understand your approaches to structuring work; it’s not designed to be an exhaustive piece of work (in-person, 1 hour)
- Final stage interview with our CEO – diving deeper into your experience and the scope of the role (in-person, 1 hour)
- Reference checks and move to offer.
