Accounts Payable Specialist

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end Accounts Payable function. You’ll ensure our suppliers are paid on time, our processes are sharp, and our financial systems keep up with our growing restaurant network. You’ll work closely with our Operations and Head Office teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and a healthy balance sheet. 

You’ll have:

• Minimum 3 years AP experience 
• Ability to work independently in a standalone role and together in a team
• AP system/process automation and ERP migration experience highly regarded
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
• Self propelling and thrives in a fast-paced / multisite / high-volume environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Previous experience with Xero, ApprovalMax, Dext, and Excel advantageous
• Characteristics reflective of FISHBOWL’s ethos: self-motivated, positivity, service-oriented, flexible, and ethical with a high degree of integrity.

You will oversee the day-to-day Accounts Payable function to ensure accurate, timely payments, support financial performance, and contribute to a smooth supplier and operational experience across our restaurant network. You’ll be expected to: 

• Process high volumes of invoices, credits, and payments accurately and on time
• Reconcile supplier statements and proactively resolve any discrepancies 
• Prepare weekly and ad-hoc payment runs, ensuring timely payments and correct authorisation 
• Collaborate with the finance team and restaurant leadership to ensure smooth end-of-month closure
• Manage and maintain accurate vendor records and invoice coding structures 
• Identify opportunities for process and system automation/integration to optimise AP efficiency and accuracy (e.g. AI) 
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant accounting standards.
